James is an Associate at Malk Partners, where he conducts ESG due diligence reviews in transactions. James identifies and evaluates ESG risks for target companies to mitigate potential operational liabilities. Prior to joining Malk, he worked as an educator to senior military and civilian strategists at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies where his issue areas focused on comprehensive security responses to terrorism. James is a proud graduate of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong and credits his alma mater with nurturing his passion for Asian geopolitics.
James graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a dual B.A. in Economics-Accounting and International Relations.
At Claremont McKenna, James was named the Keck Center for International and Strategic Studies Bill Rood Intern in International Security. He was also a contributing author of Northeast Asian focus articles to the Keck Journal of Foreign Affair and provided edits and translations for books issued by the Keck Center. Additionally, James was a Resident Assistant for the college.
In his free time, James enjoys reading, travel, and golf.
